Find Out What a FAST Horse Looks Like!
Arcadia, CA (Apr. 11, 2009) – The public is invited to FREE horse “Conformation Clinics” hosted by Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) on Saturday, Apr. 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Clockers’ Corner, Santa Anita Racetrack and the Owner/Trainer Lounge, Golden Gate Fields.
Participants will meet leading California trainers and have a chance to get a close-up look at racehorses. The trainers will cover the basics of racehorse conformation and how it relates to soundness and performance, after which attendees will have a chance to ask questions.
Participating in the Santa Anita clinic will be trainer Matt Chew, bloodstock agent Gayle Van Leer, veterinarian Dr. Heidi Agnic, and Toby Turrell, handicapper and publisher of The Yellow Sheet and Winners Card. At Golden Gate Fields, TOC director Tom Bachman will be joined by trainers Chuck Jenda, Michael Lenzini, and Val Rhoden.

Santa Anita Racetrack is located at 285 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA, 91007. Clockers’ Corner is at the west end of the Grandstand, and can be reached by entering through Gate 8 off Baldwin Avenue. Golden Gate Fields is located at 1100 Eastshore Highway, Albany, CA, 94706. The Owner/Trainer Lounge is on the ground level just above the saddling paddock.
TOC is the official organization serving new, veteran and future Thoroughbred owners in the state.
