You Can Own a Racehorse for $5,000!
Del Mar, Calif. (8/1/09) – Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) is offering a FREE seminar, “You Can Own a Racehorse for $5,000” – an introduction to affordable racehorse ownership, at Del Mar Racetrack on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 8:30 a.m. A panel of leading horse owners and trainers will discuss partnerships and syndicates as a fun and rewarding way to purchase your first racehorse.
Pablo Suarez, a TOC director and leading California owner, will discuss the concept of fractional ownership, including the various forms of partnerships available. Matt Chew, a third generation horseman and trainer since 1982, will cover research methods for selecting the right partnership, including internet research, personal interviews and referrals. Gary Fenton, an equine attorney and managing partner of Little Red Feather Racing, will cover the financial obligations of owning a horse in partnership. Following the panel discussion, a barn tour will give participants an opportunity to see racehorses up close and ask questions of trainers.
The seminar will take place at the Veranda Café in the Clubhouse section of Del Mar Racetrack. Del Mar Racetrack is located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar, CA, 92014.
