Following our May 10 TOC members meeting with representatives of CARF and Golden Gate, TOC has worked with the various industry stakeholders to reach an agreement for Golden Gate Fields to remain OPEN for summer stabling this year. I am pleased to report that we have now reached an agreement to make this happen, subject to approval by the CHRB at its May board meeting tomorrow. The main changes from the summer racing plan discussed at the May 10 TOC members meeting:
- CARF will conduct a five week meet at Pleasanton starting June 18.
- Two race weeks previously allocated to Cal Expo (07/14/21 – 08/03/21) will be run at Golden Gate Fields rather than in Sacramento.
- The Golden Gate backside will remain open for stabling and training throughout the entire summer with the exception that starting June 13 there will only be FIVE DAYS training a week with no training Mondays and Thursdays. This is expected to continue through July.
We appreciate the member input on last week’s TOC conference call, which was critical in reaching this new stabling resolution.
