The New California Racing Circuit

Earlier this week, California Authority of Racing Fairs (CARF) board unanimously voted to withdraw the Golden State Racing application for 2025 race dates at Pleasanton. In conjunction with the vote, California’s Thoroughbred racing stakeholders finalized a landmark agreement to ensure the long-term viability of the sport statewide.

Starting December 26 with the opening of Santa Anita Park’s winter meet, the state will transition to a single circuit for most of the year. To provide a clearer understanding of the agreement and what 2025 will look like for our members, TOC hosted a membership call (recording below) on Friday, December 20, 2024.
